Great value and friendly service. I had the Bo Ne ($20) that comes with a side salad and a choice of garlic noodles or baguette. I opted for the baguette this time, but the noodles are tasty as well. Not super garlicky, but a great agent to mop up the remaining bo ne sauce. This was definitely one of the better Bo ne that I've had. The beef was tender and the sauce was super tasty. The pate was smooth, creamy, and savory. Really good. Tan Dinh also sells hu tieu, which piqued my interest to try later. There's ample seating inside and the service was friendly. Would love to visit again!

Hu tieu was super flavorful, and I asked for no pork so they graciously gave a couple more shrimp! Big portion sizes, my friend and I both had leftovers at the end. The inside seemed clean, but we overheard another table saying there was a fly in their water, so took off one star.

Tan Dinh Cafe is located in Vietnam Town in San Jose. This is a very busy plaza, especially on weekends and weeknights, so parking may be hit or miss - if you do not mind parking further away, there is more parking by the back end of the plaza. Restaurant looks bigger from the outside, but still a decent amount of seating. The ladies working made sure I had my utensils / napkins and I received my order in a timely manner after ordering. On a weekday afternoon, I was one of the 2 customers in the restaurant - people started to come in, as I was finishing up. I did appreciate being seated at one of the tables with booth seating, instead of the small tables by the window, even though I was by myself. I already knew what I wanted beforehand, so I was ready - I ordered the Bo Ne (sizzling plate). It came with steak and eggs on a cow sizzling plate - on the side came a baguette roll and salad with dressing. About $20 ($25 with tip) for this sizzling plate set and I felt like the price was a bit steep, but I was craving this and it was pretty good. Only thing was the baguette could had been cut / slit and a bit more warm, but not a huge deal, and also, the steak was a bit on the chewier side. I would say it was like 3.5 stars, but it satisfied my cravings for the most part, so overall 4 stars.

Small cafe with a limited menu. We got the bo ne, which was great-- often find most places are too salty or the steak is tough. This place bo ne had great flavor and tender meat. One of the best in the bay. Their hu tieu kho was solid too. I would get this when you don't want to go through the trouble of making it yourself. The green drink-- not too sweet, very balanced.. I ordered a 2nd one on my way out for my husband, who didnt like it as much, so I had 2 that day. Worth it. Reasonable prices and really good execution on a specialized menu. Would definitely return!

Got the Bo Ne and the seafood pork noodles with soup on the side. The Bone was perfectly cooked with the crispy baguette I loved it! We got the seafood pork noodles without the seafood so they were nice enough to give us complimentary liver and heart in the noodles. When we told them we didn't like the organ meats, they nicely substituted for meatballs and additional pork slices. They were very kind and thoughtful. The interior was on the smaller side and can get a bit crowded by the register. But overall, it was a nice meal.

This is my second time here at this Tan Dinh Cafe. Located just across from Nuc Mia in Vietnam Town, it is a Small Cozy Restaurant with a Simple few Vietnamese favorite dishes. The two popular items here are their Sizzling beef (Bo Ne) and the Hu Tieu Nam Vang Combo Noodles. Other simple dishes includes Rice plate, beef stew, yellow noodles, and Chicken Pho soup. Love the Indoor and outdoor seatings!

Yum!!! Great restaurant located in Vietnam town. We ordered three dishes of what they're most known for, Bo Ne! Bo Ne comes with a side salad with vinaigrette dressing and one banh mi each. The main dish came out SIZZLING and bubbling hot on the hot stone plate. The plate consisted of tender pieces of steak, two eggs, bell peppers, onions, pate, and one meat ball. The sauce was so yummy to dip with the banh mi! Portions are generous and the size of the banh mi is definitely enough to get you full. I would even say it's shareable too for some people. The restaurant is chill with k-pop playing in the background, with a good amount of seating. Parking might be difficult on weekends but doable!

Came for the Bon Ne (Vietnamese steak and eggs) and left satisfied :) I love that it came on a sizzling plate and we had the option of choosing bread, garlic noodles, or rice as our side. The menu is pretty small because I think they're "soft opening" still. The back of the menu had about 12 Vietnamese dishes handwritten there, but I cannot read Vietnamese so I used Google translate and images for everything haha. My fiancé and I also ordered the #4 which was a bowl of soup noodle dumpling and a #6 Banh Bot Chien (rice flour cake with egg) Everything was good. No complaints. I thought the Bon Ne was definitely the best, though I do think the quality of the steak could've been better and I prefer a more rare cook. #4 and #6 were just okay for me and I've had better elsewhere in the plaza. I would come again just for the Bon Ne! There was only one other table besides ours, so our service was great and our food came out quickly
